BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF COSMETIC NURSES: TERMS AND CONDITIONS
On becoming a member of the BACN you are automatically agreeing to these terms and conditions and you are providing us with the appropriate consent to handle your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
1.0 GENERAL TERMS
1.1 By registering and joining the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses you agree to be bound by the BACN Code of Conduct and always hold Public Liability and Malpractice insurance whilst in membership and practicing.
1.2 Each member is expected to attend the Annual Conference and at least one Regional Super meeting per membership year
1.3 We reserve the right to increase the price of the membership subscription on an annual basis. You will be informed of any fee increase within your renewal e-mail.
1.4 Credit Card Payment. If you are not using your own credit/debit card to pay for the membership subscription, you must ask the permission of the card holder before entering the payment details. When you apply to subscribe to BACN you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit/debit card holder.
1.5 Your membership renewals and reminders will be sent by email, as this method is faster and more environmentally friendly. An electronic Certificate of Membership is issued upon payment.
1.6 At the point of renewal of your membership, your renewal payment is confirmation of the continued acceptance of this contract. You may not transfer any of your rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another person.
1.7 Use of the BACN logo, BACN Charter mark and Charter Certificate must only be used in reference to individual practitioners, not to use for clinic marketing.
1.8 Member passwords and access codes to password protected areas of the website and other associated membership benefits, are strictly for the use of the individuals to which they were issued, and must not be shared with any third party or unauthorised person.
1.9 Registered members must provide their NMC PIN number to the BACN.
1.10 Members must inform the association of any changes in their circumstance or contact details.
1.11 You will also grant permission for your membership records to be held on computer for the purposes of handling membership and mailing out membership material.
1.12 You will also grant permission for your contact details to be passed to BACN Board or Group Leaders for the purposes of communication and event management. You may opt out of this clause by contacting HO via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
1.13 If you are accepted into membership, but it subsequently turns out that any or all of the information provided by you was misleading or false, we reserve the right to revoke the membership with immediate effect, without the right of appeal.
2.0 REFUNDS POLICY
2.1 Since British Association of Cosmetic Nurses is offering membership and events we do not issue refunds once payment is accomplished and in the case of membership, the membership has been activated. As a customer you are responsible for understanding this upon purchasing your membership or registration for an event being held by the BACN.
However, we realize that exceptional circumstance can take place, therefore we do honour requests for a refund on the following basis:
Non-delivery of the product: You have received no contact with the BACN (this does not include technical problems beyond the BACNs control)
Unforeseen circumstances: This does not include your decision to stop practising as an aesthetic nurse.
Events - Members may be invited to events organised by the BACN, to enable members to gain information and make the best use of networking opportunities. Cancellations made 21 days or more before any chargeable event will be refunded in full. Cancellations after that date will be charged in full, although substitute attendees can be made at any time.
2.2 If you feel you have a justifiable reason for a refund, we will respond to any complaint or query received within three working days. This may be an acknowledgement that we have received a complaint whilst further investigations are carried out.
2.3 Requests for a refund will be considered by the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses within the period of 1 week after registration. You should accompany this request with detailed and grounded reasons why you apply for a refund. Please make sure your request does not contradict our Terms and Conditions. A refund is issued to you upon receipt of a Waiver of Copyright signed by you.
2.4 If you have any queries, comments or complaints about your subscription please contact our office - we are ready to assist you and deliver professional support in a realistic timely manner.
3.0 MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION
Membership of the BACN will cease if:
3.1 a member’s renewal fees remain unpaid by renewal date.
3.2 a members name is suspended or removed from the NMC.
3.3 they feel the member has contravened the BACN Code of Conduct or acted in a way that puts the BACN into disrepute. The decision is made by the board and is final.
3.4 they at any point in time cancel, do not renew or are refused professional indemnity insurance.
4.0 MONTHLY PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
4.1 Your Membership
You agree to take out the selected (British Association of Cosmetic Nurses) BACN membership for one year.
We will write to you shortly before the end of your membership year to let you know that your membership will continue for the following year.
Your membership date is fixed from your first payment date, with the first payment taken on the date you join, and then 1st of each month following.
4.2 Your Membership Fee
You can pay for membership with a single annual payment, or a monthly payment which spreads the cost over 12 months, with additional administration charges.
Associate membership and International Affiliate membership is £200 annually or £20 a month.
Full membership is £300 annually or £30 a month.
Affiliate Membership (suitable for Doctors and Dentists) is £400 annually or £40 a month.
You authorise the BACN to send instructions to the financial institution that issued your card to take payments from your card account in accordance with the terms of your agreement with the BACN.
If you’re a new member paying monthly, your welcome letter will include your payment details.
If you’re an existing member, you’ll find the payment information in your renewal letter along with your membership material.
If we do increase your membership fee, we will tell you in advance of that payment and will not be within the first twelve months of your membership.
4.3 Failure to Pay Your Membership Fee
If you fail to pay the BACN any instalment, your membership will be suspended until payment is complete. We will email you and give you the opportunity to either pay that instalment, or pay all instalments due for the remainder of your membership year, by alternative means.
Unfortunately, if you then fail to pay the amount upon further request, we will request that you remove all references to the BACN from your website/social media.
5.0 BACN FORUMS
5.1 BACN host Forums on the BACN website and Facebook. To use BACN Forums you must be a member of the BACN. It is a membership privilege for which you are accountable.
5.2 All advice/comments/threads are the opinion of the author and not the BACN and are posted without prejudice. Any member violating the rules of confidentiality will be permanently removed from this page and face disciplinary action by the BACN. Please do not share information outside of the membership.
5.3 Do not advertise your business or your associates’ business/products/training on the Forums. Competitive rates for advertising on our website are available via the BACN office.
5.4 Do not post photographs of patients. We recognise the need for this type of information sharing and this learning opportunity will be incorporated into our website.
5.5 Do not share PDF's/books/articles on this forum unless they are COPYRIGHT FREE.
5.6 Please respect the intellectual ownership of the information given freely and without prejudice on this page. The information was given freely to BACN members and is NOT yours to pass on to NON BACN members.
5.7 Any breach of the above Terms and Conditions will result in the perpetrator being removed from the Group by moderators.
5.8 The BACN reserves the right to remove any social media post that is deemed by the BACN Board to have contravened the BACN Code of Conduct or in any way, shape or form is deemed to be inappropriate.
