Sharon Gilshenan, a highly reputable aesthetic prescribing nurse has vast experience in advanced facial injectable treatments. Her specialty is in volumisation techniques and facial sculpting but with a gentle and subtle approach. Sharon has great skill at discreet treatments such as rejuvenating lips as well as offering a wide range of anti-ageing injectable procedures. Besides being based in Cobham and Knightsbridge, Sharon also works as aesthetic trainer, teaching advanced aesthetic techniques to practitioners throughout the UK and Ireland. She has gained extensive knowledge and experience and is an advocate for standards of excellence and is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses. Sharon is an Ambassador and fundraiser for Facing the Future visiting schools to educate on facial disfigurement. Sharon will lead a workshop on the different modalities of how HA works and how to select the right product for each patient based on their age and skin quality. The live demonstration will focus on the use of Profhilo and Aliaxin as well as the new Viscoderm Hydrobooster.

Mel has been working in the aesthetic industry for 13 years, working for larger cosmetic surgery businesses and smaller independent aesthetic clinics. She is also a trainer for a number of well-established medical aesthetic training companies. During this time Mel’s passion for aesthetics has led her to share her skills and knowledge through teaching and training those already working within the industry and those new to it. Mel currently has a number of roles; she is on the board of the BACN, and co-chair of the BACN Education and Training Committee. She is also a lead trainer for Cosmetic Courses, a faculty member and brand ambassador for Allergan as well as one of the Senior Nurses for The Private Clinic Group. She also runs her own aesthetic clinic - Alchemy in Aesthetics. Mel regularly contributes to journals and speaks at industry conferences such as CCR and ACE. Within this session, Nurse Practitioner, Mel Recchia will showcase the use of chemical peels in treating a variety of skin concerns, using the clinically proven NEOSTRATA® PROSYSTEM PEELS in conjunction with pre & post peel homecare. She will discuss patient selection, protocols including application and homecare. There will be a short presentation followed by a live demonstration.

Angelica is a local Clinical Psychologist specialising in Psychotherapy. Angelica qualified in 1984 and has worked in and out of the NHS with adolescent and adult mental health patients throughout that time whilst working intensively on Eating Disorders Units during her early career. Angelica's main interest has always been psychotherapy and more lately body oriented psychotherapy. Since 2005 she has run a private psychotherapy practice in Bristol and worked as an expert witness on psychological assessments for the Civil Court for individuals who have suffered trauma, depression and anxiety as a result of accidents, medical negligence and abuse. This area of work has included assessment of some patients who have sued their doctors for unsatisfactory aesthetic procedures and is noticing this is a growing field of work for her practice. An open discussion on the motivational factors and psychological processes involved in requesting aesthetic procedures and the complexities in the treatment relationship between clinician and client. This session will primarily be a short presentation and then an open question and answer discussion and exploration with the group. All attendees are invited to bring difficult casework to discuss with Angelica and Emma to gain a new perspective.
