The BACN is kicking off 2022 with a series of 14 Regional Meetings taking place nationwide.

These all-day meetings are made up of a networking lunch, peer to peer review, and feature talks and presentations from industry partners that work directly with the BACN. These talks can range from injectables and skincare to business support and insurance concerns. Regional meetings create a space for businesses to interact with aesthetic nurses and showcase new and innovative products, whilst BACN members learn about the latest developments happening in aesthetics today.

These events are totally free for members to attend, and guests are welcome to attend at a cost of £50. Members are encouraged to come along to as many events across the UK as they would like. The day is a fantastic opportunity to network with nurses in your local area, learn something you may not have already known, and feel just that little bit more connected after such a long time apart.

Excitingly, these will be the first meetings attended by many of our new regional leaders! There are limited spaces available for each location, so book soon to avoid disappointment.

What is my Aesthetic Practice worth? Scale-up, Retire or Exit?

Whether you're starting out, been long established or somewhere in-between it is important to have an end game in mind. Gary will look at the different kinds of medical aesthetic practices that exist, their business models they use and how to add value at each stage to ensure the business is transferable to a new acquirer should you decide to move-on, retire or even be unable to continue to work in or run the business.

Originally a biotechnologist and EEC researcher, Gary has spent 16 years in pharmaceutical sales, marketing and research and been involved in multiple drug launches. He has spent 20 years working in medical aesthetics and was pivotal in the acquisition of PLLA at Sanofi-Aventis where he was head of medical aesthetics. He developed and executed the launch and scaling strategies prior to the business being sold to Valeant. Gary founded 5 Squirrels Ltd in 2014, a start-up company which supports healthcare professionals working in medical aesthetics to build their brands, increase patient recruitment and retention with a novel approach to launching their own brand skincare products. The company has launched over 350 skincare brands internationally.

The Journey To a Paperless Practice

This presentation will give a short overview of the importance of running a paperless business and considerations for making the transition. 

Natalie is a private healthcare business consultant and former operations manager having worked with hundreds of healthcare professionals over the past 10 years. Natalie managed medispas at sea onboard luxury 5* cruise ships for 5 years before returning to London where she run complex multi-site clinics and has been a CQC registered manager since 2014. Natalie works with both start-up and established brands in Aesthetics, Dental and Private Healthcare to increase sales, improve business efficiency, manage projects and launch new initiatives. Central to this is the implementation of a robust practice management system to streamline processes and enhance data analytics. Natalie heads up the partnership team at Pabau

This presentation will cover the following topics:
- What taxes are relevant to your practice
- What tax changes are around the corner and how you can prepare for this
- The importance of communication with your accountant
- Making Tax Digital and who it affects
- Administrative and bookkeeping issues
- Planning to sell the business

Jonathan has been working in public practice since 2004 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2007. He runs an accounting practice in the south of England and assists clients with personal tax, corporation tax, VAT, sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts including tax planning matters. Over recent years he has developed a keen interest in the Aesthetic Medicine industry and assists clients with tax compliance matters in this area. He has given talks at BACN regional meetings on VAT, tax planning and general business as well as writing articles for some aesthetic publications.
