SHARON has worked alongside plastic surgeons developing her practice and aesthetics over the past 25 years. She has set up and managed cosmetic clinics in London and overseas, and was significantly involved in introducing the first Hyaluronic Acid filler ( Restylane) into the UK in 1996. This generated a particular interest in dermal injecting techniques, training, education and governance within nursing aesthetics.
An RCN Aesthetic Forum steering committee member until 2009, she is a Founder of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) and is current BACN Chair. She is currently the UK editorial lead on the British Standards Institute /CEN standard committee for Non Surgical Aesthetic Medical Services. She is also an editorial board member of Aesthetics Journal magazine, advisor on the Safety In a Beauty campaign and holds a committee position with the UK Academy of Aesthetic Practitioners. Present work also includes the NMC revalidation pilot project until September 2015.
A working director of Harrogate Aesthetics she additionally provides an aesthetic service for a private hospital group. Her specialist areas of practice are predominantly Dermal Fillers combined with restorative skin support and restoration.
