I began working in aesthetics in 2014 when I started my own clinic IrwinReid Medical with a nursing friend. Our aesthetics business was a part-time venture at first, as we both continued to work part-time within the NHS.
I am originally from a small village called Cullen, in North East Scotland and I’ve been nursing now for over 30 years. Initially training in Paisley, I then nursed in London for 5 years before moving with my soon-to-be husband to Belfast in 1998, where we raised our four children and have lived ever since.
For the past 20 years, I’ve been a Nurse Practitioner in General Practice where I specialised in chronic disease management and obtained my Nurse Independent Prescribing registration in 2011. However, as my aesthetics business continued to grow, I decided to leave the NHS in July 2021, and now concentrate full-time on my aesthetics and medical services business. I look forward to reaching out to network with and support other nurses through my new role in the BACN.
